# Oink documentation

> How to install and use Oink, the GPU node compositor: the node graph, every node, AI tools, color, 3D, Python scripting, review and rendering.

Oink is a node-based compositor for visual effects. Compositors will find familiar nodes, knobs and shortcuts, and it opens and saves .nk scripts. It runs on Linux today, with no Blender needed, and covers 2D compositing, a 3D view with Cycles, the Oink Review editorial app, AI tools that run on your own GPU, and command-line and LAN rendering.

- [Install](/docs/install): set it up on Linux.
- [Getting started](/docs/getting-started): launch it, find your way around, build a first comp.
- [Switching to Oink](/docs/nuke-users): what carries over, what differs.
- [Node reference](/docs/nodes): every node, generated from the code.
- [Concepts](/docs/concepts): colour, layers, 3D, AI, review, movies and more.
- [Scripting and plugins](/docs/developers): Python, startup scripts, custom nodes, gizmos, OFX, MCP.
- [Keyboard shortcuts](/docs/reference/shortcuts)
